Pool & Tennis Recreation Opportunities
Because of the spectacular programs and facilities at CYC, our active family community enjoys not only sailing and racing, but also swimming, fishing, tennis, and lounging by the state-of-the-art pool.
Pool
The Corinthian Yacht Club pool was renovated in 2012. It is a state-of-the-art 6 lane heated pool that serves recreational swimmers, swim team, youth classes and adult fitness classes. The beautiful poolside area overlooking Marblehead Harbor is also the setting for stand up paddle (SUP) rentals, children’s arts and craft activities, and many more fun-filled times for adults and families. Several club parties during the summer happen poolside including July 4th races and celebrations, and the Watershow, an extravaganza of lights, costumes, and laughter.
Tennis
The tennis courts, built in 1937, were originally surfaced in red clay. They maintained that surface until 1972 when the CYC installed two Plexipave hard courts for easy maintenance. Members now enjoy a Prestige Sports System surface, which was first applied during the 1997-1998 season.
The tennis program, open to all members and their children, offers junior and adult clinics as well as private and semi-private lessons. After school tennis classes are offered in May and June, adult clinics and round robins take place weekly, and both intra-club and inter-club tennis tournaments are spread throughout the summer.
