SAILING FUNDAMENTALS COURSE
Totally new to sailing? No problem! Beginner sailors should book a two hour private lesson prior to enrolling in this course. Furthermore, if you have questions on if your ability qualifies you for this course, just ask Kevin. He is here to help!
The Sailing Fundamentals course covers all the essential theory and skill needed to safely navigate our club Sonars around the harbor and out for short day sailing trips. Participants will learn how to balance helming, trimming, and boat handling
responsibilities using a club Sonar. This seamanship focused course is an ideal refresher for those with some basic sailing experience.
Participants will practice how to safely set off and return from a mooring under sail, steer a course through the crowded mooring field, and demonstrate accurate handling and trimming techniques for sailing maneuvers. Students will also be introduced to man overboard recovery, heaving-to, reducing sail, basic navigation and rights of way.
Cost
$200 for household pairs
$300 for a household family
